Apple and Blackberry Crumble

 Medium Glass Roasting Dish
 1 Mixing Bowl
 Chopping Board
 Sharp Knife


 900g/2lb Cooking Apples
 100g/4oz Blackberries
 1 Tbsp Soft Brown Sugar
 1 tsp Cinnamon

 for the topping
 225g/8oz Plain Flour
 75g/3oz Soft Brown Sugar
 75g/3oz Butter or Spread


Pre-heat the oven to 180°c / 350°f / Gas Mark 4.
Rub the flour and butter together until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add the sugar and mix it in well.
Peel and core the apples then slice thinly.
Put the apples, sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan and heat gently until the apples have softened.
Pour the apple mixture into the roasting dish and sprinkle blackberries on top.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit.
Cook in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until the top has started to brown.
Serve with cream, ice cream or custard.
