Dedication
Transcript: DEDICATION Aubrey Cain and Chante Joseph (v.) to devote wholly and earnestly, as to some person or purpose Histoical Figures?! Joan of Arc Jeanne d'Arc was the first real heroine in history and remains as a symbol of dedication to the Lord. She was french and grew up in a time where her country was under the rule of England. When war broke out, Joan felt a calling from God, telling her to join the army. She disguised as a man and passed all inspections and examinations. Joan was so influential on the battle field that she was made a captain. It wasn't until she was captured by the English that her secret was uncovered. They accused her of witchcraft and heresy, and that it was against the law for a woman to wear men's clothing. She would not give in to the English and was dedicated to her purpose and mission for the Lord. Joan of Arc ended up being burned at the stake when she was nineteen. Rosa Parks Rosa Parks is a prime example of dedication. She was a woman from Montgomery, Alabama who refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger because he wanted to sit in the front and she believed it was not fair. She was then arrested and fined for violating a city ordinance. Rosa parks constantly showed dedication because she never gave up pushing for her belief that people should be treated equally, no matter their race or gender. One time when I was in 4th grade there was this club that everyone loved to be in called Video Club. In order to try out you had to record a video in front of the lady who was in charge of the club. If you messed up too much you wouldn't make the club. So when it was my turn, I was very nervous and when I went to do the video I didn't do too good because I was messing up words and not remembering what to say. In the end I didn't end up making the cut. This really devastated me because I was usually good at everything I tried, so in order for me to make the club the next year I took a Brodcasting class during the summer to ensure my skills for the audition the next year. I never stoped going to the class and when I auditioned I made it! I didn't mess up anything except for a word or two and I was the broadcaster ! if i wasn't as dedicated as I was, I wouldn't have made it, so dedication is the key! Aubrey's Dedication! They all said I couldn't do it. They all told me it was "this or that", and that I would have to choose. They all said there was no way it could all be done. I was dedicated to prove all of them wrong and reach my potential. Student Council Swim Team Miss Spring Valley Pageant Academic Excellence As a natural instinct, I try to be as involved in what I am offered as possible. That is why I am a avid member of the Varsity Swim Team, I'm ranked in the top ten of my class, I am a Student Body Officer, President of Latin Club, Order of Thor recipient, member of National Latin Honor Society, Miss Freshman, Children's Garden Sophomore Co-Chair in Winterdays, and a distance Track and Field runner. Many of my coaches and club sponsers have told me that I cannot handle of the stress and responsibilty of all of my activies. However, I was dedicated to show each one of them that I was capable to handle everything on my plate. It is tough and there are many moments where I wish I weren't so involved, but my dedication always pushes me through those times. Dedicated Students Dedicated Leaders to their beliefs and values. dedicated No matter how bad things get, whether the economy, health care, or political conflicts, a strong and effective leader is one that stays loyal and In schools, no matter if it is the top ranked academic school in the nation or the school that has the lost graduation rate in the state, there are always those few students that are Dedicated (n.)
