Transcript: And I Told About Equality And It's True Either You're Wrong Or You're Right In these lines right here Michael is saying that everyone has their own opinions on what equality is. He is also saying that if people have different views on equality, each person is right. They Print My Message In The Saturday Sun I Had To Tell Them I Ain't Second To None This is one of the first lyrics in Black or White. In these lyrics, he is saying that he is not no one, he is a person. In fact he is a person with equalities, and he deserves to be treated equal. In his line where he says "I ain't second to none" he is saying that he shouldn't be put second and that everyone should be treated equal. I Am Tired Of This Devil I Am Tired Of This Stuff I Am Tired Of This Business So When The Going Gets Rough I Ain't Scared Of Your Brother I Ain't Scared Of No Sheets I Ain't Scare Of Nobody Girl When The Goin' Gets Mean In this part of the song Jackson is saying that he is tired of all the racism that is going on. He is referring to the devil as racism. When he sings about all the things that he isn't going to be scared to is he is also saying that he is not scared of anybody and he won't let racism or a person from a different ethnicity affect him. Now I Believe In Miracles And A Miracle Has Happened Tonight In this line in Michael Jackson's song he saying that there has a been a miracle that has happened, and by that he means that people are starting to treat blacks and white equally. But, If You're Thinkin' About My Baby It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White Micheal Jackson was a very accepting man and it did not matter if you were black or white to him. Everyone could be his friend. Everyone should be like this and accept everyone like Michael did. Michael Jackson is like a prophet because he speaks about how he accepts everybody no matter their race or skin color, just like Jesus and the prophets did. Biblical prophets accepted everybody, just like Michael Jackson did. Michael is also like a prophet because he says that everyone is brother and sisters no matter your race and that what we are in Christ, this is also what the prophets preach to us Michael Jackson offers hope in this song because in one of his first lines he says that he believes in miracles and he believes that the world will become a better place and this gives people hope right away in the song. He also gives us hope because he says that there is two sides to a story and he doesn't jump to conclusions, it gives both sides of the story hope because he says that he would want to hear both of their sides. In this song Michael is very positive and is very accepting and this can give people a lot of hope. Modern Day Prophets After I did this prezi on Michael Jackson's song Black and White I noticed that some of his song goes along with the CST principles that we are talking about in class. One of the main ones that this song relates to in my opinion is the first principle, Life and Dignity of the Human Person. The connection that I see between the principle and the song is that the principle is saying that we should be accepting of everybody no matter their race or skin color. That is exactly what Michael is trying to say to us in his song, that no one is greater than anybody else and that we should all be treated equally no matter or race or skin color. Black and White In this song Michael Jackson's mains points or topics that he sings about are racism and equality. He really tries to emphasize that you are a race, not a color. He is also telling us in this song that it doesn't matter where you are from or what color you are because we are all people. This song is very energetic and fun to listen to so it grabs people attentions while also talking about major issues that we have in our society. The lyrics that he sings give his opinion on racism and how they affected him and the world around him. There are a lot of things that I really like about this song, but one thing that really stood out to me was that he was really against people being unfairly and I think that is how we all should think and treat each other. The reason that I picked this song was because it has a very good message in it with a very catchy tune. I also thought that it related well with what we are talking about in class on how everyone should be treated equal. I personally really like this song, and I'm glad that I got to look deeper into what some of the lyrics mean and how it relates to the world around us. Michael Jackson opened up a lot of gates for a lot of people to see that no matter peoples skin tone everyone is equal. A lot of people like to listen to Michael Jackson's music because they are catchy and they have good meanings behind them.
